And so game starts with a coin toss from the marshal...which Micronology wins. They select QOP as their first hero while rev0 choose Scourge as the side they want to be in. Uncommon, as most teams prefer Sentinel if given to choose.
Hero Drafts: (In order of heroes drafted)
Micronology
QOP
Twin Head Dragon
Bristleback
Omniknight
Pudge
Micronology's heroes are very strong late game. With QOP and Bristleback as end-gamer, and Omniknight's Guardian Angel makes the team near-to-immune to RK's physical attacks. However, it will be interesting to see if they can fend off rev0's early pushes and how they lane their heroes as they have 3 meelee heroes. Diffusal blade would be a useful item in this game, to either purge Warlock's golem or RK. LOA might be a good alternative for Omniknight as Micro would need to win the lane control or be in much danger.
rev0
Warlock
Rogue Knight
Necrolyte
Pugna
Zeus
rev0 has a rather intel-based and mostly ranged group of heroes, with Pugna to perhaps do an early push. Necrolyte's ultimate is also good to finish off Bristleback/Pudge as they should have much HP. Their heroes are also not that good late game as their end-gamer (RK) is a meelee hero and would be hard to do much in a battle as QOP with skadi would be slowing him alot so that he cant reach the Sentinel heroes. However, he could try opt for a fast damage build with MOM + Damage items like MKB, Burize, etc. So that the stun time of the 2 Warlock golems would be sufficient for him to deal a considerable amount of damage.
Laning
Top Lane:
Bristleback + THD vs Necrolyte
Middle Lane:
Pudge vs Warlock
Bottom Lane:
QOP + Omni vs RK + Zeus + Pugna
Match starts...
RK moves alot this game... played more as a role of ganker trying to help win the lanes. He also has a starting item build which is full stats items, no regen (tree, clarity, etc). Instead of farming, he attempts a gank on mid lane very early, but isnt successful in killing Pudge.
First blood goes to Omniknight from Micro, together with QOP, takes down Pugna while Zeus is unable to do anything.
Warlock stays in mid lane for a very long time, controlling Pudge and farming. But it might be a good idea to gank a little once his Golem is ready, as rev0 weren't really winning the other 2 lanes.
First engage in mid lane goes to rev0, who takes down 2 Micro heroes.
However, the engage after this didnt go too well for rev0, as Necrolyte (engaged too early/caught, I'm not sure), was fighting too early before Warlock and the rest arrived. Had the engage be timed better, the result might be different. This results in 4 rev0 heroes going down and only 1 Micro down. This only means more farming time for QOP and additional gold. Not looking good..
At this point of time, QOP is still farming at an average speed with only Perserverance and Point Booster. Bristleback is pretty rich however, as I would expect since it was Bristleback+THD vs a solo Necrolyte. However, QOP farms quickly from now on as Micro starts to win the remaining engages.
3rd engage was perhaps a mistake of miscommunication, as Warlock Golem's cooldown was soon to be ready but the fight had already begun. All 5 heroes from rev0 were taken down.
At this time, rev0 heroes are underlevelled, with Zeus only lvl 9 and the Micro heroes at an average of lvl 11 or so.
rev0 attempts a push at mid, but Warlock realises he doesnt have sufficient mana to Golem-Refresh-Golem.
Micro does a wierd 4-1 push...while the 4 heroes were already near tower, Bristleback is still far away from the enemy tower. rev0 shows some delay here in capitalising on this advantage, not engaging fast enough. But eventually it still happens and rev0 wins this fight, clearing 4 Micro heroes. Bristleback also takes down the 2nd Scourge tower for bottom lane though.
As time passes, Micro heroes are farming up well while rev0 heroes are under-farmed. Micro pushes mid successfully and clears 2 lane's barracks at a time. The game from now on is already Micro's and eventually they finish the Scourge throne to put an end to this exciting game.
GJ to rev0 for trying hard and at a point, nearly coming back tops onto the game. And GG to Micro for a well-played game.
MVP for the game
Pudge was pretty effective this game, getting a good number of kills early game and even killing the Warlock 1v1 in mid lane. An unconventional hero used to good effect, thus he recieves the MVP award for this game.
Conclusion
Lastly, the above information is whatever I could gather on the spot, as replays are not released (yet). Thus, there is a limit to what I could observe and there may be some inconsistencies here and there.
Thanks for reading and...
