Zenith and xqR kicked out of TFL

This came from the dota allstars forum. Reason being due to inactivity. One of the admin even mentioned that xqR's excuse for missing a game with xDT was because they were sleeping. Funny thing is the match was scheduled at 2am EST where xDT is which is 2pm here in Singapore. Lame excuse by xqR.

Shame really. All the matches so far against those US/Euro teams by Zenith (4 losses?) and xqR (3 losses) have been losses. They didn't have a chance to redeem themselves. This looks really bad for the dota scene in Singapore. People can only say our standard is subpar compared to the US/Euro Dota players.

I don't blame the TFL admins though. In fact, I have seen many people rooting for Zenith and xqR in the forums including the admin himself. They do think they have the skills but lacked the experience and strat knowledge. Instead of putting in the commitment to play the TFL matches to gain experience against foreign teams and maybe improve through gain of new knowledge and strats, it seems like they don't even care really. Being dominant at home and region is enough for them. Or did being pawned in so many games by the US/Euro teams broke their ego and loss of confidence? Again, this puts SG dota teams in a very bad light in the international dota scene.

I sincerely hope SG teams do not disgrace themselves again with this kinda behaviour. If you sign up for something, make sure you follow it through. Not just leaving it half-fked. Hopefully, I'll get to see Zenith/xqR back in international competition again and completing it.

perhaps u may wanna go play instead and then comment on it. we pulled out of the competition the same time we missed that match so i dont really see a difference...
try playing in conditions such that u wont get to see any engages as it just hangs till the engage is over and having spikes and delays of up to a few seconds every few seconds...
neutrel host which are always neutrel for them and never for us and even if there were a few change of hosts the results would still be the same as the lag delays spikes and watever still remains...
there really isnt a point playing such matches already is there... u cant even judge a skill level on such grounds already and what would u learn from something that u cant even see anyways... i hope u will go try such games before commenting anything thx

Quite true though.But everyone got their own opinions and comments.Representing sg would like quite a pressure and responsiblities for both teams.

Unbalance factors is always a problem in international compies,not just sg teams are facing it,most teams out there also have the same problem.Everyone will just have to adapt and get used to it.If its really unbalance,then there is no point playing at all if one can't withstand the pressure and unbalance factors.Why not don't play at all,save the troubles and problems.

Overseas is standard with 1222221.And no bding.Chick sharing allowed.

Lag... the most popular excuse for losing matches in all types of games. Why am I not surprised? Everytime one loses, just blame it on lag. Have you ever thought that they may be superior in skills and tactics? How would you know that they don't experience the same lag from a neutral host? You can say that for sure? Also, for the matches played, the lag was that horrible for all of them? From the replays seen, yes, there seemed to be bad delays in a few of them. But the others looked fine to me. The players managed to blink out on time often. Also, Zenith is always winning most of the team battles in most of the matches. With lag conditions that bad as you said, I don't see how they can do that, unless of course, the other team faced the same bad conditions.
Stop blaming it on lag. SG's internet connection is not by far the worst in the world. Just look at team Papi, they even managed to beat MYM #4's champions with lag delays of 1.5 to 2s.
Try posting this excuse to the international community and see if they will believe it.

Oh, and BTW... when MI2 played coL (disbanded), it was SG host. coL was experiencing lag conditions, but guess what? They managed to draw. 1-1 results. Seriously, I am really afraid at how good they will be when they play under lagless conditions.

Btw,international standards differ alot for those who never played or encounter them before.

Ppl in sg would look up to zenith,xqr etc.Or those teams who always comes in top4 in local compies.

But as we are comparing to international standards.Our local teams are merely either on par or considered weaker than them in facts and results.

Yes, the coL - MI2 matchup's supposed to be best of 3. 2 -lm and 1 -ap draft. The 2 -lm matches were hosted by MI2. The -ap draft match was supposed to be hosted by coL. However, MI2 didn't want to play the -ap draft match because they cannot take the lag. So it ended 1-1.

Zenith got lucky with x6, eNe, and teamQ. All 3 of these teams were willing to stay up late or wake up early, or sometimes Zenith had to wake up early too (x6 particularly commendable for allowing Zenith to play at 3pm). Unfortunately, MYM wasn't easy to schedule with because they had a mix of European and American players (two timezones to accomodate) and Zenith had IGC that week.

If it's anyone's concern, Zenith was actually trying to arrange a match with N! faculty just before they received news of being kicked out and was planning to catch up on matches... so yeh. And for the record, it's 3 losses. Zenith was gonna win the next one ^_^.

Although quite honestly I'm quite befuddled at how ready people are to condemn SG teams (addressed in general, not to thread starter). I join MYM with a bunch of friends and suddenly they smash my team again.

I'm very willing to discuss the strength of European/American teams and our losses with anyone on a personal basis. If you're really SERIOUS about finding out my opinion on this, you can add me on msn.

Thanks Ant for your input. This is alot better than just blaming it on lag conditions and refusing to play, thus being kicked out. Especially because you are the first Asian teams to join in the compy and after a few straight losses, being kicked out of it due to 'inactivity' doesn't exactly bode well for Asian dota or even SG dota for that matters. People might not be willing to accept Asian participation in future and will generally look down on it.

I had been excited when you guys took part in TFL and had actually expected you guys to do well. Even though the results were not great but I was hoping you guys can learn from the experience and eventually upped your level of play even higher. Maybe you can negotiate with Metro to return since you guys actually plan to play the matches but just didn't have the time? Can't say the same for xqR though.

u can say, perhaps, that they let their SPONSORS down, but its seriously nothing to do with singapore or asia. to the fans perhaps, but thats just way off. team zenith should just been looked at as another team in the WORLDWIDE dota COMMUNITY.
so they got kicked out of a league, have you thought that perhaps the league should organise things in a different way? for example setting deadlines and STICKING to them, much like local leagues do, and teams which fail to play are walked over. cos this is what happens when rules are allowed to be bent, you find players pushing the limits.

well..they always insist on a netrual host eg america and all the stuff about their netrual host having "gd ping" they did not factor in other factors like the distance between the host and sae euro country and host-asian country .. theres still other factors like traffic,isp latency,and eg for sg if u wan visit foreign site u need direct to japan b4 u are directed from there to the destinated site(donno if it applies for gaming) .. and we do have lol isp connection speed compared to other country of 100mbps ,200mbps with gd latency..its really hard to make oversea play lag/delay less than 1sec.

Should Dota be a game played by gentlemen or a game played by ruffians ? You decide you reflect the image. The reason why we're not comparable to Western Dota scene because we have people like majority of you guys. Quarreling over such small matters being narrow-minded and stuffs like that.

Anyway, I really Idolise those who can play Dota well. They're usually people who have GREAT ATTITUDE, people who are SENSIBLE. Now you see why you can't get to competitive standard. Whether anot XQR or Zenith is lousy, is not up to you to judge. Defeat them then you criticise, many of us here can talk but who can do the walk ? Think about it. Anyway, i believe someday Dota will make it big and Singapore teams strive hard. Theres no perfection in skills or strat, just that whether you can find the loopholes of it. Good Luck.

Dota in Singapore is not going to make it into the International Scene when you have people lashing out flaming remarks instead of clicking their mouse in dota.
Imagine people from overseas visiting this forum,what impression will this forum leave to them?
Singapore has a bunch of immature gamers playing dota.

I think the admin of this site really need to hold a tight rein over the mannarism of user if they want to do the Singapore dota scene some good.
