Bone Fletcher: Hero Slayer?

hi guys, Happy New Year!

First post here. :)

A group of us have been playing DOTA Allstars v6.27b map. 3 vs 3 games. Bone Fletcher has been our Heros Slayer thus far. With Butterfly, Hyperstone and Life Leech etc items, plus the employment of windwalk in an ambush, is almost a sure kill.

Anyone has any advice? :confused:

with death pact, frankly speaking, life leech would not be so necessary...

thats IMO lar.. bone with strafe is pretty fast, butterfly would be good but the cheaper version i felt would be sange and yasha... its definitely enuff for it...

coz bone is easily targetted by spells and he has a short life, BKB could prevent urself from getting targetted by spells, or linkens sphere could prolong ur life a little against spells...

Lately, basher had been an item with me, bone has a decent attack speed, taking 1 / 2 basher will equate to total ownage of his victim.. with or without WW...

but if play basher, butterfly and hyperstone would be gay items on him....

I would go for MKB/Sange + Burize and then Butterfly. Hyperstone makes bone too weak IMO

well to counter bone just get a gem or wards and when he ww by to backstab. simple.

but to counter a bone, other than gems or wards, stun is the best thing IMO...

I gather the ward is the Sentry/Observer Ward. Will be trying that in the next meet with Bone Fletcher (BF). What is the Gem?

For the stun, BF has a attack range of 600. With the correct item, his attack speed is very fast, by the time I can cast a stun on him, he has already inflicted heavy damage on me. What item/hero character would u recommend for a good stun?

the ward i'm refering to is the sentry ward which grants u true sight.

What u say is right thats why when playing with bone, u must be 200% alert and watch for his first arrow... dota is abt reflexes. there are times when i cant play as fast because its near bedtime and things on the screen become real slow... imagine i can farm and doze off while i farm... lol...

Thanks Hime, now with the item, I can see him but never fast enough to hunt him down or range adequate to inflict heavy damage on him.

Still trying to find a character and formulating a tactic here. :(

I've got a feeling after Shawn posted his choice of build on bone.. quite a number of bone lovers are taking his words.. i still disagree on stunning bone would be a good idea as an experienced boner would wind walk when you are just about to stun.. or even when u already cast a stun.. one other choice to counter bone will be Butcher.

but think of this.. if got wards, he WW also no use... still get stun and he's dead...

even sniper also can play with him... but thats a sniper with bashers lar... :p

if u can see him when he ww then u have to act like u don until the last moment then u stun and he can say bb... thats how we play against bone.. regardless u are pro or no pro... there are tactics to counter every hero de... no matter how good ur bone may be, u still have a chance to be stunned and killed before u can ww again...

Well, stun will not quite work unless you are talking about ganging up on bone. A well build bone usually can survive being bash during the stunned period in 1vs1 situation. So virtually, 95% of the time the bone will just wind walk away the moment that you are going to deal your killing blow.

In a full team push situation he will be parking nearby waiting to pounce on the weaker hero on your side and by the time your side discovered you already lose 1-2 of your heroes and then when you want to gang that bone, high chance that he will windwalk away.

EXACTLY what my team is facing.....! Any advice?

bone is quite paper at the start, as long as your heroes do not feed him, he should not be a major threat. sniper can win bone even without basher. bones like to stay out of action and come in for the kill, which is perfectly fine in my opinion. but to counter him just make sure your team can disable him once he appears. in a 5v5 game, if the bone hides, its a 4v5 until he appears, which means given that your hero's are not disadvantaged already, you should have no problem taking out a hero or whipping their life down.

BUT then again, alot of scenario's is to extract and kill off a single enemy to disrupt their strat, like pudge pulling someone, or vs switching. if YOU could pull that off before a conflict between the 2 sides, you might just be able to avert being pwnt by a bone, since it drops to 3v5 while the bone is missing. and the most important part is to watch out for the bone. you know hes there, just wait for him, not the other way around.

Wilb, coincidentally, in a -ar 4 vs. 4 game today, I have got Troll and BF was on the adversary. Lost my gem in a fight, ambushed by BF a couple of time, and we lost the game. :p

Fighting bone isnt hard. Just hit him when you see that he is trying to harrass you. And if you know you wont win him in a 1v1 fight, then dont let yourself get into that circumstance. Starting off might be hard for you since bone will harrass you like crazy using searing arrow so dont go front unless for last hits.

My bone skill build:
Level 1 Windwalk first
Max out Searing Arrow asap
Mixture of Stats and Strafe
Level 1 and 2 of Death Pact at level 10 and 11

I haven't tried NA (Nerubian Assassin) against Bone Fletcher because he's too weak at the start. However, i suppose it's pretty safe to say that Clinks is a mana-reliant (well, you know he relies on mana to WW and strafe) hero, so if i get the chance to use NA against Clinks, i'd just mana burn him all the time. Don't have to max out mana burn that fast. 2-3 skill points on Impale is just as nice, and can be better if you see him WW to chase you (that is, with wards).

Like, at the mid-lane, he's on the other side, just mana burn him once in a while, and check his mana all the time. No point in burning about 5 mana when it actually costs you 85 mana to do it. NA is just as mana-reliant as Clinks (i daresay more, because everytime i run out of mana on NA, i feel EXTREMELY scared =P)

Another hero i suppose you can try against Clinks is the Anti-Mage Magina (Sentinel side). Just try not to die too early (oh and don't use AM against Clinks in 1v1 like i did - died horrible death). Pool money to get wards so everyone's safe. Get 2 wraiths for Magina, treads and some water to keep alive and farming. Farm for that basher, then go for a butterfly, or MKB. An old-skool Anti-Mage item build would be treads + basher + basher + hyperstone + MKB/Butterfly but i have a feeling that Manta will work well on him. I've tried Guinsoo on Magina (and believe me, it rox). Sheeping someone and watching them run while you whack them is uber fun =P

imo, a good bone will be able to survive a gank if he is well built. Not to forget that his ww grants speed increase as well. So very few heros will be able to match his MS

True, Bone is a hero slayer. All he does for early-mid game is farm for an aegis divine. Also OP, life steal doesn't stack with searing arrows.

Bone requires Dagon to be useful.

Dagon will give you mana to cast Death Pact and you can "Dagon" people who are running away after you "Wind Walk" to catch up with them.
