glossy and slick LED keys.. GET MI ONE PLS
oh did i sae its possible to place short animation clip on it too .Yes its all possible now with the Optimus Maximus Keyboard in the market.
Just like the normal LCD monitors, it does have a lifespan of 20,000hrs(~2year 3month) after which display quality diminishes. The keyboard comes with a SDK for user to customise the keys and a 32mb SD memory card to store the basic layout.
Do take note that this keyboard will not be able to run just being powered by the PC
You need two cables: a USB cable (USB 1.0 or 2.0, the latter is preferable) and a power strip (a power adapter with European and US plugs is part of the package). The device is powered by 100–240V, 50–60Hz. To help save power, this keyboard has a
light sensor, adjusting the brightness of the keys accordingly to the surrounding brightness. You can manually adjust it using the SDK provided too.
Now for the coolest part about this keyboard, It going to cost you US$ 1564.37 and you have to preorder online.
Interested party can get it @http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/.
*NOte it spoils easily like a LCD or other display, not for the rough and those who love to drink while they play

Wah, DotRk are you gonna buy one for me?
Anyway thanks for the tribute. I powered your post to main for the community to know about this great product.
I am also actually following the update of this KB, but it's on the expensive side. Hope they are successful in selling it and able to mass produce, thus allowing them to eventually lower the price down to consumer level. Now it's too expensive, they are for those high-end tech geeks(rich too) to buy.

i know u gadget guy mah:D. so bring to you this news. anyway
i'm too poor for it :( waiting for price to drop too . the cheapest alternative in the market wil be the saitek eclipse 2 illuminated keyboard but without the LED display.. however theres led lights on the background of the board. color is customisable (3colors red, blue and purple ). $100sgd~.. i think will be another 2-3 years before maybe logitech came up with a cheap alternative to optimus kb..:x

Dotrk, wah clever boy sia. How you know I love gadgets? Yeah, Saitek one looks good enough and cheap, however not sure if lasting or not.
Astatine, that luxeed's keyboard is really damn colorful. At night think I will be blinded or get high just by looking at it. However it looks promising. Do you know how much it will be MO for?

Hardwarezone I posted it on the keyboard thread. :p My nick on HWZ is phiphosopher.
VR zone floppy's MO for Moshi Celesta still ongoing leh. 149 only.
Papa, Luxeed costs about 200 without numpad, 233 odd with numpad, for black. Silver a bit cheaper. Doesn't have to be colourful since can change.. Black also nice. Since got no green tarantula keyboard, if got chaos green mouse can get this kb and then make green to match ^-^

Wah Luxeed cost 200, that's ex leh. Like that I will go for the saitek eclipses III or logitech's G15 anytime. The luxeed got programmable keys? If so then it will justify the cost.

I would think the laser keyboard sucks unless you really need portable typing.. imagine gaming with that.. You can't feel the keys so it's so easy to press wrongly.
