"If you're a long-time PC gamer, you've heard it all before. Your favorite gaming platform is dying, and it's all about the consoles now. After all, gaming on the PC is too expensive. It's too complicated and unreliable. The sales just aren't there. All the cool games are on consoles. PCs are fine for World of Warcraft, but everything else is better played on a console, unless you're a diehard competitive first-person shooter nut."

Came across this article where the author defends gaming on the PC platform against other platforms.

IMO: No consoles (at least up to this generation) can replace the PC platform. Although more patches on games and higher hardware cost, this versatile gaming platform still has a wide range of games that attract its crowd (DOTA!!;)).

PC > console in terms of performance. even if u do purchase a ps3/xbox360, u still neeed to purchase a HD-lcd/plasma sccreen which starts from ~1k and accessories like HDMI cable to produce quality images on ur screen.the total amount adds up to an average pc price.
yea i have a xbox360 but didnt have a lcd with hdmi port and end up the Xboc360 image quality sux on my pc lcd 22inch` even with the vga connector(which is said to produce low HD images).

In my opinion, a PC is so much a better deal than consoles. Consoles just keep getting better and better, and you have to constantly keep up with the newer products, eg. PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3.

A PC has a much more versatile durability in comparison to consoles, apart from gaming, you can use it for office work, e-mailing, online chatting, researching and etc.

pc is better than console imo too...but these game producers...they all focus on the next gen consoles more now..like for example in nba live series...next gen consoles have better graphics and gameplay. Game producers also tend to focus their attention more to these next gen console gamers..leaving us pc gamers grumbling..pc is best for games that require fast moving of cursor i think...lyk dota cs etc..imagine playing them using controllers...gged ^^

Both have their pros and cons, no need to argue. Buy them all.

Certain games i like to be played on my PC, like RTS, FPS type of games. Others will be on Console, like those fighting, racing, sports, action.
RPG wise will be both, the US produce type of rpg will be on PC and of course console can enjoy most of the japanese rpg.

MMORPG still preferred on PC, but somehow i am super amazed by some of my japanese ex-guildmates in FFXI who can control their characters with tonnes of command just with a PS2 controller.

Gaming on the PC platform dying?

No way. As long as there's demand for it, there would be competitions and it will continue to survive.

No point, everything is rising except salary. No $ means nothing.
