So What if You Are Pro / Well known?

Hey people out there , u may think im flaming those pros/ Well known people but im not.. Its stating some facts not just some casual remark..

If you think that you are pro / well known and can just start bm-ing or simply leave the game
without any consequences then you are wrong.. For average people out there on mIRC , when he/she leaves a draftmatch , they simply get sniffed out resulting in a ban in private channels they are in.. BUT what if those leavers are pros / well known in mIRC? Especially when they are ops in those private channels ? People simply believe their side of the story when an arguement goes about and the poor you will just get a kick-ban with some insulting reason example : You have been kicked from #? Reason : ( Rofl noob want to kpkp, Buay song come sidebet lar )

The main point is , even if u are in a ultra laggy game or in a game where u are outstanding and where your team-mates cant play dota for nuts , does it give u a reason to leave ? So what if you are a pro ? Even when u are in a rush to leave and knowing that the game you are playing is a waste of time , does that give u a reason to leave unpromisingly ? At least ask politely before leaving .

Upon views / experiences from at least 20 people , they have encountered these Pros leaving in games which they are in before.. They simply just Bm and leave the game.. Some even gave some sarcastic remarks before leaving.. Cant they just pause the game and ask nicely ?

Besides Leaving and Bm-ing , Playing in a way which makes people feel unhappy sometimes do happen , this is known as playing guai lan - ing .. Upon knowing that their opponents are noobs , these pros would do things which will make their opponents feel pissed.. For example , the Pro using puck uses the 1st skill to reach the back of the opponents fountain by the unrevealed Tree terrain .. After which they will just camp there waiting for people to kill them .. Such things can also be done with many other heroes... Another example is the whole team going dagon especially the heroes which would not go dagon on a regular build .. For example : Team VP against a singapore local team . Vigoss's Viper went dagon. My oppinion , they wanted to insult their opponent.

I wont name these people unless under the approval of at least 20 people and of course dotasg_papa . But im not referring to all pros.. As long as you have a conscience and Know that you did not do these things your fine . This is not a flame and please do not take it to heart

The draftmatch thing, it's really not anyone's fault to put "decent plz" or something of that sort since, to be honest, there IS a great disparity between the standards of different mIRC teams. Anything else, like "UNBEATEN!!!" is usually exaggerated enough to be quite clearly not meant to be taken seriously, an more often than not a dig at their previous draftmatch opponents.

Theres is a rising number of noob teams that go "gg" "ff" and just leave the games when their scores are getting ugly 20 minutes into the games..

My guess is they learnt this from international replays where losing teams can leave anytime after saying wp gg..

Most of the times, it is those people who are looking for last just gather together to play. And when they start losing, people leave, blaming each other and giving us reasons like "He is a pub player."

Yes, I do feel the frustration but that do not give me any grounds to holler at them or scold them noob. If that happens, the vicious cycle will commence at people shouting others noob, leaving games, causing other games to spoil as well as these bad behaviour spreads fast. It'll happen wherever you go. I wish there was a way to shut them up but there will be keyboard warriors (as well as stupid ahbengs who wanna bring it to real life...) and such. And normally if they're considered 'pro', people will automatically stand up for them and defend them.

Pros are always 'innocent till proven guilty.' Then unknowns are 'guilty until proven innocent'. Even when proven guilty, pros will still be worshipped, most by themselves.

People are always saying, "So noob also still want to bm" because they automatically assume that being good in a computer game makes you somewhat superior in life. As you can see by certain 'famous' people in the immediate gaming environment, they apparently consider themselves pro enough to act like Naomi Campbell. And the problem is their fans will ALWAYS support them no matter what ****wads they are. Being pro in the game 'earns' you the 'right' to be an ass.

It makes the nice people like Musica, Ant etc look like absolute angels.

There's a reason why I don't socialise much in the gaming scene. This is it.

Honestly, you've gotta live with the pros you can't imagine vP accommodating every team that goes up to them claiming their good, and turning out to be horrendous. In the end, the losing team would just credit their loss to the skill level of the better team. But the better team would just feel like they had just wasted their time.

So don't blame pros for leaving, I can hardly imagine zenith leaving unless your team was already too weak for their standards. (*Which is probably the case =.=)

Well, again. It take two hands to clam. Well, I support the thread starter about being look down upon. Like what many explained, the item build is nothing, I agree. So in tournament sometime people also used those build, they might even be testing strats. Let's say it's not that case, they are not in the wrong for doing that, it's pub game right? In pub game something people play relax game.

Okie note, the word is relax. So mean playing casually, not serious. But then this continue to a point that when you play relax game, it does not mean you can bm and verbally(or using keyboard skill) to humiliate your opponents.

It's really kill the spirit of the person you are directing your verbal slavo to. And it's devastating. We do want to see new people improve right, so please do not drown these people's fire. Playing in pub do not give you a license to start a BM session.

And the crime is even more serious if you are playing as top model. Being a top player do not mean you must be friendly and love all your opponent, you are free not to do so, but it also does not give you the rights or license to be cocky. It will not cause you big effect now, since if you are still high up there outta reach. But when you are down (everyone have their ups and down), the karma(some mystery stuffs, do not ask me to explain) would come I can ensure you. For every cause there is a effect.

I today can be brave enough to admit, I have my fair share of bad fun screwing people around before in pub games. And I take the opportunity to apologies to those who suffer my wrath before, you guys know who you are but do not want to name you all because some of you might not want to be out in the open. I am sincerely, sorry. Forgive the PaPa.

So far I have made a hard attempt to mellow down myself when playing pub and cultivating more immunity to bad vibes. Which I think is working wonders. The change I can see in me kinda reflect in the recent tournament I ran. Which I am shock and happy about.

Anyway back to the main topic, guys, please do heed my advice. Everything takes too hand to clap, either good things or bad thing. So wanna change a bad situation into a good one, we need the hand each from new comers and the veteran to help to create a more conductive DotA environment. Either competitively, or casually, either here in DotaSG or else where.

Why drag a game when all left to do is to pound on the base building that opponent obviously had no defending power over. Especially when mega creep, what so fun in continuing on surrendering opponent, well is it to glorify your own perverted desire to go into their fountain area to get more kills before the tree/throne is down? This is damn non sportsman like. Some more please do not give the excuse that aiyah like "soccer, people also finish full game for their fans even when they losing and fight back".

Dota != Soccer, totally different stuffs between the two. Ask yourself, do you especially enjoy the part when you watch a live cast or replay when one side already so overpowering that they are only pounding on their helpless opponent? If you say yes, I think you are just as perverted.LoL.

Also do you think with opponent three rax down for example, they still can have miracle comeback. We all know the answer in our heart. If they can, they will not concede in the first place, even when some of their rax are intact.

Seriously, if opponent want to concede let them, do not waste your time and their time. It's not worth it for senseless self glorification.

Next, nothing wrong with backdoor, this have been discussed and explained so many times. Maps updates since how many aeon ago has already eliminate the unfair advantage( good job by Icefrog team, they listen to the us the common people and do something about our feedback).

Your mentality is totally wrong.

Cos no matter what, it's not right even you are 100X pro. You cannot just go around and bm just cause the other opponent is not as pro as you. You cannot say waste time because the pro in the first place is playing in a pub environment. The pro should be prepare for randomness of people he meet.

Answer: There is a line between harmless jestering and blatant insults. Pros are role models that we look up to. They are the ones whom we admire and respect.

Everyone has a certain level of tolerance. If you go overboard with your taunting, please be level-headed enough to apologize, no matter who you are. There are people out there who will blow up at the slightest spark, myself included. But as long as you realise that you are going overboard, and apologize, people will be willing to forgive you. Of course, that is not always the case, but think about it. There are billions of people out there, why be affected by just ONE person? If you just ignore him, he will realise his taunting is useless and move on.

Back to the topic of pros BMing, yes, I do believe that as excellent players, they have earned themselves bragging rights, but only to some extent. It's like how the better players can scold others when they are doing something stupid, like running into 5 enemy heroes, but they themselves do not get the same type of treatment when they do exactly the same thing. Why is this? Because they compensate for the stupid mistakes by doing something unbelievable, which of course, might not be what other players are capable of pulling off.

However, as I mentioned earlier, one must also always take into consideration the boundaries of the moral rights entitled to others. They are not your slaves, and also have feelings and emotions. Before you throw hydrochloric acid on their faces, think about how they would feel. Many a times, we speak (or in this case, type) without thinking of the consequences. This often leads to heated exchanges which spark a wildfire, and the damage is irreversible. Pros might have bragging rights and some rights to BM others, but that does not mean they should abuse their rights and go around flaming every noob they see. There is a certain level of tolerance in every person, and I am sure some of us here have had it with the BM of these Pros.

Of course, I sincerely believe that these BMers are only the minority of the Pros. There are certainly alot others that we can admire, respect, and learn from. With each day, each game, more and more people are reaching that level of gameplay. I hope that these new stars will be able to learn from history and not go down the paths of BMers.


If anything, we can only blame Blizzard for making WC3's chat interface so damn good.
