Hi, ive just bought a dell xps m1730 with 2x8800gtx in sli. I have no problems with any games except for wc3 where i get some flickering at areas with yellow words like the main page top right corner the wc3 frozen throne words and in game chat the bar yellow colour i get flickers.

descriptions are also flickering and some spells like macropyre would trigger the flickers too. it happens all the time once i start it up and never stops no matter what i try. should i disable sli? i haven tried that yet. the problem occurs only in vista becos when i run windows XP with the same graphic config, there is no problem.

any1 got this problem too or maybe can help?

on nvidia control panel ive set sli mode to alt frame rendering 2. ive tried other modes but none helped.

unfortunately i have no expertise here. Perhaps what you can do is to check if you are using the newest drivers. And if it is, is it Vista compatible?

if your using vista, and i guess you are, try running wc3 in Windows XP compabile mode.

you just solved the problem yourself. "disable sli" .

thanks for all your help. once ive disabled sli the problem goes away but is there any other way to solve it and leave sli on? in windows xp i had sli on and it dint flicker.. is it becos of vista? im running the latest stable drivers from dell 167.55 becos all the newer betas ive tried all gave lower performance or were unstable.

this set of drivers require restart when disabling or enabling sli so i think its kind of trouble some to restart when i wan to play wc3. any other ideas of how to make the flickers go away without removing sli? or any recomendation of a good set of drivers that wont need restart to enable sli? thanks again for ur help

i'm afraid you have to wait for newer sli` drivers to fix this problem. i heard alot of ppl using radeon 3870x2 (crossfire) experience slowdown in wc3 in vista too. Driver is the key to solve this.

i think it's vista.
i'm using a vista laptop and my screen flickers as well. Most probably vista doesn't support WC3.
