Singapore - Hi everyone, with the expansion of DotaSg and the media team, we would like to invite interested candidates to try out for the following positions:

1) Writer

- You will be responsible for contributing noteworthy articles to DotaSg.

- Commitment is important for this position, so please apply only if you can contribute articles on a regular basis.

- You will be responsible for sourcing out latest Dota news locally and worldwide for use in DotaSg.

2) Events Coverage Staff

- You will be responsible for covering major Dota Events in Singapore

- You will be required to provide battle reports, photography, interviews etc about the event.

- Note that you will be required to be physically there for the duration of the events.

To answer the queries: please send in a sample article you have written if you are applying for the writer post. It can include: battle reports, interviews, dotarelated articles etc. It must be self written.

or those kinda report papa writes, but then those battlereport papa writes are so exclusive. lol

go all gaming website and source for articles is so much easier then writing things out of air. especially when you yourself do not have a strong competitive team or a mass friendship web in the competitive dota scene. lol

To answer your questions:

regular articles = 2 articles per week, of which 1 is selfwritten, another can be either interviews, battlereports or quoted from other websites.

As to why we do not want to just lift an article from other websites like mym, gotfrag etc, that is simply because we want dotasg to be the place to be for all dotarelated news.

for the successful candidates, more information will be revealed.

if foreign news are excluded, then it can be very dry (battle reports not considered as news).

like we only have: upcoming compys like capl, evo2, gg, cyberdome?, wcg and team movements etc..

Well, that is where you come in. Think of yourself as a writer for a newspaper, where sometimes, news do not come in from other sources like reuters, afp etc. You have to source out news, think of articles to entertain the reader.

a very good example of selfwritten articles are those by sumiko tan in lifestyle section of the sunday times. Of coz, when you are slected to join the team, we will guide you through the process, and give u relevant links, guidelines etc.

The key skill we are looking at potential writers and media coverage crew is creativity and also the skill to react properly to 101 situations. Have to be resourceful in finding material to produce regular interesting article.

It can be local and foreign news, but more focus is on home happenings.
