In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from
the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved him to death.
For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have
watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's
agony, until eventually he died.
But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the
Central American decided that the 'installation' was actually art, so
that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for
the biennial of 2008.
PLEASE HELP STOP HIM! It takes a second to help put a stop to animal
abuse.

it is a hoax.
vargas is truly a genius.
he wanted to show and make people reflect on why they would make such a big fuss about an isolated incident of a dog being tortured and ignore the millions of people living in poverty and starving out there everyday.

a work of art indeed.

Guys, it is a hoax as in it never really did take place.
Thats the magic of it all. Word spreads and people get so concerned yet they don't care about the millions of their own species dying out of hunger and starvation everyday.
An irony isn't it.

I did a minor research on this subject and currently there is 2 camps regarding this topic. One against it and one for it.

The majority of the internet community would be in the against it camp and it is what the original intention of the artist was. Most people were and are 'outraged' by this act and are putting their best effort to protest and petition against the artist.

In the comfort and security of their own home and internet.

What a lot of people fail to notice is there are so many other similar cases on the streets and we just ignore and walk past them without a second thought, whereelse when one is being touted to be roped and starved to death in a art gallery, everyone just bursted and condemn the artist, even going far enough to send him death threats.

For those that still thinks that he still deserves punishment and still signs the online petition for doing such a cruel thing even if it is a hoax, go pro instead of anti, save the animals by doing active things that can help them directly like donating money to the pro groups like SPCA or even volunteering to help.

Hatred only breeds more hatred.

Sources I did my reading on regarding this:

i would apologise for not gng into it deeper & to understand the situation more before posting this thread if it truly turns out to be a hoax. Let's all hope that it truly is a hoax & no animals were being harmed in this incident.

it's alright, i don't think anyone would know it's a hoax till he decided to actually reveal so.
i mean if revealed too early, then he would not have been able to prove his point.

good that the dota community actually raises issues such as this here, instead pf the common compy news and sometimes less than honourable, troubled threads.
