DOTASG WAR OF WORDS

Hi guys, DotaSG will be organising its 1st ever debate competition titled "DotaSG War of Words I" and all forum users are highly encouraged to participate.

So most of u will probably be interested in how we are going to run this debate.

A few ground rules to set:

DOTASG's Debate will be run in the form of single elimination brackets; meaning u will need to register by sending your particulars to me. This includes:

-Name/NRIC
-Contact number
-DOTASG ign
-Why u want to join this competition

Other information:
-You must register for a DotaSG account.
-The Debate thread will be open from a set week, Monday to Friday, after which the thread will be closed and will be judged by our panel of judges as well as the DotA community.
-There may or may not be prizes, tbc.

We are looking at a total of 16 people for this round of debate. If the event is successful and response is good, we might consider organising it again next month.

Objectives of DotaSG debate
-Sparkle intellectual discussions between players
-Provide interesting insights into playing DotA
-Last but not least, to have fun! :D

Hmm, random topics will be set by our judges. As of yet there are no hints to indicate what these topics might be, but stay tuned for more information.

Panel of judges will be the DotaSg team. As for the subject, it can range from anything regarding gameplay, items, heroes, drafts, etc. Generally it will be a debatable topic such as: Do you think ES is a good team helper? i can't really define any topic atm, need to wait for more registrations to flow in. So if u guys are interested don't hesitate; just sign up. It'll be good fun.

About the topic above.. I hope it don't go along those line.. In debate there is proposition and opposition , this actually forces one side to take a stand that ' ES is not a good team helper ' .

Your right, after we have got all our registrations in, we will seperate them into two groups namely sentinel and scourge; afterwhich brackets will be drawn respectively to facilitate the round-offs. As for topics, debators are welcome to argue on any grounds as long as they are able to support what they are saying.

I guess u can't make too many grammar errors than ur opponent, it just reveals a lack of tendency to stay focussed on the topic.
