Hi people,

There are plans to setup a DotaSG room in Battlenet where filtering will be done to ensure leaver-free games, for Singaporeans that play on Battlenet.

Do you realise that everytime you play a public DotA game hosted by a fellow Singaporean, there's bound to be leavers? There's also many bad-mannered players that talk shit when they die or when they own. It is really sad and disappointing.

I'm here trying to change that fact. I'm trying to create a community (similar to Clan TDA@Azeroth) on Battle.net (Lordaeron only) for Singaporeans to gather and have inhouse games. Basically I already have the system done up, just need the support from players.

Vote yes if you'd like this to be made into reality.

If we are able to setup an inhouse channel that is able to ban leavers like Clan TDA's bot does, then it would be a great measure in reducing the number of time-wasting games due to leavers.

However, we have to take into account the limitations of such a channel. (I'm assuming that the guy is using a bot to prevent leavers from joining the channel) A person who has previously left in a game will always be able to create another account to join the channel, join inhouse games, and leave again. Therefore, unless this problem can be plugged, the problem of leavers will still be existent, even for inhouse games.

Yep, we would consider making the room ONLY accept manually safelisted players. So anyone who trys to join the channel wouldnt be allowed to, and has to fulfill some criterias (to be decided later on) before we put him into the safelist.

This would require more effort, but definitely result in better games for the players. It just requires, support from the community for it to work out :)

actually gg client easier, eg member must be lvl 10 and above then can join the chat room, so leaver once ban they have to slowly earn their level back in other public channel. No point for them to gain level 10, comes back and get banned again.

Wish blizzard can do something for bnet, but dont think they will since the main concern is WOW which is making so much money for them around the world. WOW SEA coming!

Btw, I have a suggestion. How about a referral system where person A refers person B, but if person B leaves in a game without a valid reason and gets banned, then person A might get banned as well (since he is the person who referred his friend to an inhouse channel)? Therefore, only if you are certain that your friend is a non-leaver, then you should refer him. This will also help to deter people from recklessly referring any stranger he meets on Battle.net who seemed to be a good person.

The response so far is fairly encouraging. All SpikeOut needs now is people to volunteer their help towards the project, and we are good to go. The scripts and bots I believe are already ready.

My standard game arnt good, my MM.Takahashi.Ai user is still level 1. And if a pro standard gammer but noob at dota own at every standard matches but leave at every dota game, than make a new account by 1-2 day level 10 liao than leave again..

And indeed leavers sucks and banlist is not a very effective to scare or prevent leavers from entering game..

Or maybe only people who registered here create a account with their same nick here can join that dotasg ?server? in 1 way we can promote more people to come this website and the website here can check for IP right? if there's another same IP trying to create again, dun let them create and ask for reason why he need to create the account or why he got the same ip.

Currently, to be able to enter the channel once it is fully open, which I reckon to be around November 19th, giving SpikeOut 2 days to consolidate a safelist, you either need a safelist or non-peon icon to enter the channel. Non-peon icons DO NOT include WCGPro Gamer, or other WCG-related icons.

Safelisting requirements have yet to be out, but they will be based on these forums, since the official DotA forums are unwilling to endorse us. Therefore, all banning and ban appeals will take place here as well. :)

i thought it was pretty obvious that in singapore, most players use irc. consider the rampant piracy, and the ease of getting hold of a pirated wc3, i dont see how there are more battlenet users than regular "pirates". furthermore, getting a game in battlenet is far easier, contributing to the high percentage of leavers in games. battlenet is by far the worst platform i've played in.

df01 pm me or add me on msn if you want to create an inhouse channel.I may support this idea,because its just an invite channel with no bots. Players can just play in game with mode -rd.Then anyone who is found mhing or bad mannered/too low standards will be kicked and banned.Mirc 6.31 version do better in tracking with ip trackers/isp trackers.

I know how to make an invite channel by q and invites only,which players need to auth themselve and pm for invites,and ofc forums etc.Procedures and getting in should be standard pro too,and maybe will request an inhouse room for dotasg on ggc with channel passwords.But not sure if sg will be able to take this procedures.If they failed to do so,i don't see the point even to create another mirc ihl/local ihcs for dotasg,if sg can't even want to play inhouse -rd mirc mixed atm.It will be waste of time,since many will talk and no actions.

Imo,no point playing for stats,when players play for stats,they get over concerned over their stats and start flaming/whining/blaming on others when they are going to lose etc and this make their own play even worse when they actually demoralising the team with their loads of bullshits.And stats always get reset to 0-0 etc after a period of 6 mth or less in any dota ihl community.

Here (http://www.z3.invisionfree.com/funwar_dota) is an example of showing how overseas dota players get concerned about their community.They not only join but really helped out and contribute,mb we can learn from them instead,no offense to local community.Its a project done by me and my european mates and we have already received loads of supports within a month.Its not an ihl,but a place where clan challenges(mode : apxl )and forming fixed funwar team to battle.

it might be the worst platform but unlike what you think not everyone are cheap-ass buyers of illegal priated games. Are you encouraging piracy just for the convinence of having less leavers in your games? Besides, battle.net has far more users.

hmm. in no way was i encouraging the buying of pirated games. i was merely talking about the trend in people (not just singaporeans) who are more inclined to buy the pirated copies. I did not say that they are "cheap-ass" either.

In any case, its a fact that leavers ruin games and if i had a choice, i wouldn't play on battlenet personally.

totally agree there. i switched to zion awhile ago because the standards are vastly different for pubs and to an extent, drafts.

if im not wrg, Heaven did 1 ihl on quakenet b4. Do ask him for more info. Yes it is a great idea having a dotasg chnl on bnet. But let me state that it will only be possible when u all actually pledge urselves to it. So what u guys can do now is ask more friends(reliable non-leavers) to pledge themselves.
