The phenomenonical typhoon that hit the gaming community when Blizzard changed their splashpage to the image above is one that has just been "solved", causing Diablo 3 rumours to sort of die down.

"The site tells out that you can clearly see rune-like marks on the image, which seem to be similar to those on Prince Arthas' sword. Blizzard is also giving beta keys for the WWI visitors of their new game. Logically thinking this might be Starcraft II's beta or WoW: Wrath of the Lich King's beta."
This makes the future for Diablo III look awfully bleak. Right?
Not necessarily.
"However, some other details plead for Diablo 3.
"Top-secret cover story so huge we had to go to [CENSORED] to get it. - PC Gamer"World-Wide Invitational 2008 event will be taking place between 28th - 29th June, while Diablo II was shipped in North-America on June 29th. The year was 2000. Later next year, on the same day June 29th, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction expansion pack was shipped in Europe. PC Gamer has also a hot issue coming up around June 30th, which will feature a "top-secret cover story so huge we had to go to [CENSORED] to get it." Some say [CENSORED] could be substited with "hell," a Diablo reference.
Blizzard has also included some hidden code in splash site's .CSS file, which is giving us an extra image named for tundra. Some people think its related to a place called Frozen Tundra in Diablo game. But then again it can be anything. There is several other hints available, which are leaning for Diablo 3.
Everything is out of the control, but luckily it is only five days remaining for this huge announcement."
This pretty much gives Diablo III a 50-50 chance of going through.
The good news is, we no longer need to wait much longer before the truth is finally out. Alas, on the other hand, everything here is based more on pure speculation and has no basis for hardcore evidence that Blizzard would actually be developing/releasing Diablo III in due time.
Nevertheless, keep your hopes up for the WWI, and pray that Blizzard's secret announcement will be the legendary stigma which has evaded us for nearly a decade.
