Singapore, Asia - At 4pm today, Team Impreza has just finished playing all their group matches and the results has been finalised, with 2 wins over HongKong and Japan and 1 loss to China in their group qualifiers stage. As such, they manage to qualify into the KO rounds of the event, possibly facing Kingsurf or StarsBoba in their next match.
We here at DotaSG managed to catch up with them after their japan match and are proud to give you this exclusive interview with our National Finalist winners, with NicNic being the spokesperson as the other members of Impreza were unavaliable for comment.
Interview with Team Impreza:
SoloZ: Hi Team Impreza, firstly congrats on your win against Team Japan. How did you guys feel about winning the match?
Impreza: Their draft was very interesting, and we anticipated it. So we got counter heroes to out-draft them.
SoloZ: I see. How did you feel at the 15th minute mark when Team Japan pushed down your mid towers?
Impreza: Actually we were quite confident , as we possessed an early game advantage. Furthermore they do not have enough output to kill our heroes, but mostly their heroes were focussed more upon taking down our towers and rax quickly.
SoloZ: Nice display of game confidence. What is your target for this Asian Championships?
Impreza: We hope to be able to make it into the finals, at least the top 2. We'll definitely do our best to achieve our targets.
SoloZ: How do you feel about the way WCG is organised this year (eg booths, venue, etc)?
Impreza: It is well organized in that sense but one point of contention is the clashing of timings because of schedule, and as such we are forced to forfeit our open category slot to play in the Asian Championships.
SoloZ: That's a pity. Have u had any time to visit the many interesting booths on show?
Impreza: We didn't really have much time, most of our free time were only spent on lunch breaks and playing. Maybe we will walk around later now that our matches has ended :)
SoloZ: Haha, hope you all have fun exploring the booths. So did you guys have any strategy/drafts prior to your matches?
Impreza: Some of our strategies are mainly based on our opponent's drafts, meaning that we will try to anticipate what our opponents will be drafting and draft the necessary counter-heroes to stop them. Also, we are able to adapt to very versatile strats and can accommodate each other easily.
SoloZ: Anyway, which team do you all dread to face most in the KO rounds now that you have qualified and why?
Impreza: I would say it would actually be Ehome, from China. They have recently fought their way up the ranks and sprang a surprise win over Asia's top team XcN. Thus we have to be wary of them and in our opinion they are also currently considered to be one of Asia's top teams alongside with XcN and KS.
SoloZ: I see. Any other last words to add?
Impreza: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE! WE WILL TRY TO MAKE YOU PROUD!
SoloZ: Well, i believe Singapore will definitely be proud of your patronism. Thanks once again for your interview and good luck for the remainder of your journey in the ACG.
Let's hope that Impreza will be able to bring back the gold to Singapore and do our country proud. Stay tuned for our upcoming battle report on the match between Singapore & Japan as well as an article bringing to you the many unique features of this year's WCG 2008.
