Singapore - Today we managed to catch an interview with the only foreign player in Summerfury, to find out what he thinks about the whole event and such.
Interview with Choi Yoon Sup
Lance: Hi there. Why are you here in Singapore and how long have u been here?
Choi Yoon Sup: I've been in Singapore since a year ago to tryout for a school to study in. But during that time in Singapore, my parents have already found a school elsewhere overseas. Now i'm currently in Singapore to visit my friends and family.
Lance: How long have u been in the competitive dota scene?
CYS: Around 1 month or so.
Lance: What heroes do you frequently like to use?
CYS: Na, Puck, Potm. :D
Lance: Describe the gaming scene in Korea?
CYS: Dota is not popular in Korea, more emphasis is placed on Starcraft instead. Most korean players who play Dota are either very good or very noob. It's very extreme in that sense.
Lance: What do you think of Singapore's current gaming community, and what do you assume of their standards?
CYS: Singapore's competitive scene is very active. Their tournaments are back-to-back, and i've been actively participating in them every other week. On the whole, i would say Singapore has a large pool of gaming talents.
Lance: Have you heard of Zenith's truimph in the recent ESWC?
CYS: I'm not surprised at all. They are one of the top teams in the world as of current.
Lance: How do you feel about the way Summerfury is organised?
CYS: I don't really fancy the Knockout format, i only played one game and now i have to leave. :( It was a waste of 60 dollars. I'll prefer a group stage aka Round Robin format.
This very short interview was conducted to find out the perspective from a Korean's player point of view. The next interviews we are uploading will have a special surprise waiting for you :) Stay tuned!
