microphone help

hi can anyone help? i plugged in my microphone into the cpu in the front but it doesnt work.Microphone nothing wrong cos i try on another com, it works.

Go control panel and look for "sound" option, play around till you find the option to turn up volume of mic and also make it play back from your speaker.

If still does not work, then check if your driver is okay, and the mic as one of the attached hardware is working properly. Can try upgrading the driver to see if that will make the mic works.

Do these in sequence.

First: Control Panel > Sound > Recording > Microphone > Properties
Then Look for: Controller Information > Properties

You should see status message that tell you if your driver and device is working properly.

Try using the ports at the back, which connects directly to the motherboard.

most likely front panel wire not connected... i for one also never connect. so try the sound jack behind ur pc.
