IRC has better players, more people there actually micro and such, and hardly any delay. mIRC is more troublesome but it beats bnet.

Bnet can play de..i find it more convienence than lancraft..But the publics standard are way too ***B.Since its pub game means its going to be unfair or unbalance in most situations.Yes Mirc u find tougher opponents and most compeitititve players there.
Same like Mirc,bnet you can go to clan channels or any channels famous for inhouses/draft..

LOL... wat makes u think so? i played warcraft bnet since ROC beta ok? In fact i have 2 sets of key on my 2 coms so i can play wif my bro last time.... Seriously the only advantage bnet has over irc is tat its easily to find games. There are MUCH more noobs leavers mhers etc.. to the point that it is almost impossible to play decent game. Also bnet also have much more delay den irc.... The only time i logon bnet now is to patch the game.....

yes u nerd. if u join bnet , u will realise u have a 1 sec delay. but if u use lancraft that acts as an emulator, u are actually directly connecting to the host.

well one can easily connect to irc even through here.

simply click that chat up there and select either one of the options both are the same. click connect and u are automatically brought into the server.

to change nick simply type /nick cooooldude <-- that would change your nick to cooldude and

to join a channel just type /join dotasg <--- that would help u join the channel dotasg.

so if u want to join the games when u see a ip, just highlight the ip and it will be copied automatically. paste it into ur lancraft/yawle w/e and join e game and ur done.

bnet : good for people who are playing alone since they can join/create easily.
irc : for teams to find other teams to play draftmatches.
especially if you happen to know many people in the dota community, finding draftmatches / inhouse games is much easier.

both have leavers and mhers and noobs. go IHCS on GGC, thats the best solution, other than quitting dota.

i moved from bnet to irc because long ago, before your time, rEv0 merged/affiliated with Kaldorei. and Kaldorei people preferred irc. and we got influenced. so no more bnet inhouses. all changed to irc.
