I had this idea long time ago, and wanted to write something about it. But now im quitting dota for a moment so im leaving this idea to anyone who'd like to pick it up. The idea is nothing new, but no one (i believe) has yet to write extensively on this.
Basically the idea:
Maximum point theorem : refers to find maximum point through calculus. d2y/dx2 = 0. What you are finding effectively, is the area of a 4 sided figure ie a rectangle. In most cases, the maximum area will be a square.
How this relate to Dota is by taking width and length to be attackspeed/damage respectively or armor/hp.
Ultimately, what you want to find is the maximum efficiency. The general rule of the thumb is to alternate between items to maximize your damage output or EHP. In the world of physics, most situation can be explained with a formula. Finding the formula, or coming close to it, is my ultimate goal so to say.
Some of you may find this is a stupid thing to do. Quite true, if your are not the reader type. Feel free to shoot if you can further build upon the idea.
